Nikon filed a patent for a 24-70mm f/3.5-4.5 full frame lens

 
NikonReview - Nikon filed patent application 2011-221421 in Japan for a 24-70mm f/3.5-4.5 full frame lens. This lens only makes sense as a part of a "cheap" full frame body kit. The patent contains several different calculations:
