the sensor inside the Nikon D800 is made by Sony - Chipwors confirmed that the 36MP sensor (IMX094AQP) inside the Nikon D800 is made by Sony. The interesting part is that Sony decided to use a 24MP chip in their upcoming top of the line A99 full frame camera that will be priced at $2,800.
